The NucleoProtect® RNA stabilization solution allows convenient long term storage of animal cell and tissue samples for subsequent RNA isolation. Samples are treated with NucleoProtect® RNA which permeates the tissue during incubation and protects the RNA from degradation. Samples can be stored conveniently at 4 °C for up to one month or at ≤ -20 °C for long term storage.
NucleoProtect® RNA preserves RNA integrity and is compatible with the RNA isolation method of your choice.
Procedure
Efficient stabilization of RNA in samples prior to RNA isolation
Cell culture and mouse tissue samples (fresh, stabilized, and non-stabilized) were used for subsequent RNA isolation with the NucleoSpin® RNA Plus kit. In this experimental setup NucleoProtect® RNA preserves RNA integrity within samples as good as or better than competitor solutions (MN = NucleoProtect® RNA; S = RNAlater®; Z = DNA/RNA ShieldTM).
Protection from freeze-thaw damage
Protection from freeze-thaw damage. RNA integrity in samples stabilized with NucleoProtect RNA is well-maintained even after 10 freeze-thaw cycles.
NucleoProtect RNA prevents RNA degradation during sample storage at –75 degrees C
NucleoProtect RNA prevents RNA degradation during sample storage at –75°C. Using the NucleoSpin RNA Plus kit, RNA was purified from various tissue samples that were stored at –75°C for 3 months and either unstabilized or stabilized in NucleoProtect RNA (MN) or RNAlater (S). As demonstrated, NucleoProtect RNA effectively prevents degradation of RNA that can occur in unstabilized samples stored at –75°C.
NucleoProtect RNA preserves sample integrity during storage at 37 degrees C
NucleoProtect RNA preserves sample integrity during storage at 37°C. Using the NucleoSpin RNA Plus kit, RNA was purified from tissue samples that were stored for 1 day at either 4°C or 37°C in NucleoProtect RNA. Storage in NucleoProtect RNA effectively prevented degradation of RNA even at high ambient temperatures.
