AAVpro Packaging Plasmid Sets

The AAVpro Packaging Plasmids are sets of two plasmids (pRC and pHelper) designed to generate high-titer adeno-associated virus (AAV). AAV particles are generated without the use of a helper virus: simply cotransfect these plasmids and an AAV vector containing your gene of interest into the AAVpro 293T Cell Line (sold separately), and harvest high-titer AAV. Plasmids included in these packaging sets are provided in smaller quantities with our AAVpro vector systems

The packaging plasmids (pRC and pHelper) are supplied in large quantities (1 mg each), which makes this product suitable for the large-scale AAV production necessary for in vivo studies.

  • pRC Plasmids (pRC1*, pRC2-mi342**, pRC5, or pRC6) carry AAV Rep and Cap genes
  • pHelper contains adenovirus E2AE4, and VA genes required for efficient AAV production

*AAVpro packaging systems for serotypes other than AAV2 are not available for purchase in North America. 

**hsa-miR-342 is a human microRNA that increases AAV2 titer for this particular vector-preparation system. It increases titer by approximately twofold as compared to ordinary pRC2 vectors that express only Rep and Cap.
