The transfection reagent contained within Xfect Single Shots is the same as that offered in Xfect Transfection Reagent, except that it has been accurately prealiquoted and lyophilized with its buffer into single tubes. Xfect Transfection Reagent has been proven to enable highly efficient plasmid transfection of a number of cell types, including primary cells and stem cells, without concomitant cellular toxicity. This is because, unlike other transfection products, Xfect Transfection Reagent contains a biodegradable cationic polymer that binds to DNA, resulting in the formation of nanocomplexes that are quickly and efficiently taken up by the cell. Because the Xfect Transfection Reagent is serum-compatible, cells do not become stressed and apoptotic due to the removal of serum or the addition of serum-free medium.
The midi kit (Cat. # 631366) is designed for transfecting plasmids into cells grown in a well of a 6-well plate, and the maxi kit (Cat. # 631447) is designed for transfecting plasmids into cells grown in a 10-cm dish.
Overview
Midi size: For transfecting cells grown in a well of a 6-well plate.
Maxi size: For transfecting cells grown in a 10-cm dish.

Xfect Single Shots protocol (midi kit)
Xfect Single Shots protocol (midi kit). Simply take 5 µg of your plasmid dilute to 100 µg in water, incubate with the lyophilized transfection mixture for 10 mins, and apply to your target cells in a single well of a 6-well plate.
