The agarose with the highest molecular sieving capacity; able to separate fragments of very small size with differences of few base pairs. Its gelling / melting temperatures are found in the Low Melt agarose range. Its low viscosity allows to prepare gels of high concentration and therefore increase its sieving capacity.
Characteristics
High resolution capacity, in some cases close to that obtained with polyacrylamide gels.
Very clear and transparent gels, even at high concentrations.
Low viscosity solutions at high concentrations, allowing easy gel preparation at high concentrations (>4%) which allows the excellent separation of smaller fragment sizes.
