Low Melt Agarose (low melting point) recommended for the separation of fragments ≥1 000 bp in analytical electrophoresis. The low melting temperature (65°C) allows the agarose to melt without damaging the DNA double helix. The presence of DNase and RNase is not detected.
Characteristics
Less gel strength than standard agaroses. Gels can nevertheless be easily handled.
Lower gelling/melting temperatures than standard agarose.
Greater clarity (gel transparency) than gels prepared with standard agarose.
