The CellAmp Direct RNA Prep Kit for RT-PCR (qPCR) is for preparation of templates used in one- and two-step real-time RT-PCR, utilizing a simple method of extraction directly from cultured animal cells in 96 well-plates or other vessels. It is possible to prepare templates for real-time PCR from cultured animal cells in approximately 10 minutes.
Using this kit along with a one-step real-time RT-PCR kit (such as the One Step TB Green Ex Taq qRT-PCR kit) allows gene expression analysis to be performed in approximately two hours. Templates can be prepared directly from small quantities of animal cells, which is useful for analysis of a gene expression profile and does not influence the high sensitivity of real-time RT-PCR. Genomic DNA can be removed efficiently using this kit, making it a powerful tool for expression analysis of genes for which primers can't be designed on both ends an exon junction, or genes expressed at low levels.
