Titanium Taq DNA Polymerase is a blend of a specially engineered Taq, and an antibody for integrated hot-start PCR, which prevents non-specific amplification and primer-dimer formation. Titanium Taq DNA Polymerase is suitable for use in all PCR applications and with a wide range of samples, including bacterial and plasmid DNA, cDNA, and complex genomic DNA. It gives higher PCR product yield than other polymerases, and is active over a wide range of Mg2+ concentrations.

Titanium Taq is available in several formats:

  • Individual components—separate tubes of Titanium Taq polymerase mix and buffer (dNTPs not included).
  • Glycerol-free formulation—50X Titanium Taq SP (Glycerol-Free) is ideal for preparation of custom dried-down PCR master mixes or automation workflows.
  • For a complete system, use the Titanium Taq PCR Kit—includes polymerase mix, PCR buffer, 50X dNTP mix, control DNA template, control primer mix, and PCR-grade water.
  • A ready-to-use, lyophilized 2X PCR master mix—High Yield PCR EcoDry Premix for convenient room-temperature set up, transport, and storage.

Titanium Taq efficiently amplifies specific genes from genomic DNA

Titanium Taq efficiently amplifies specific genes from genomic DNA. Human cardiac beta-myosin heavy chain fragments of different lengths were amplified from 100 ng of genomic DNA using Titanium Taq and two leading competitor’s hot start Taq polymerases. Optimal conditions were used for each enzyme, as specified by the manufacturer. Lane 1: 0.5 kb fragment. Lane 2: 1 kb fragment. Lane 3: 1.8 kb fragment. Lane M: 1 kb DNA size ladder.

TITANIUM Taq is active over a wide range of Mg2+ concentrations. TITANIUM was used to amplify a 500 bp region of Calf Thymus genomic DNA. The MgCl2 concentration was varied as indicated. The enzyme performed consistently through the range of Mg2+ used. Lane M: DNA size marker.
