The agarose with the highest molecular sieving capacity; able to separate fragments of very small size with differences of few base pairs. Its gelling / melting temperatures are found in the Low Melt agarose range. Its low viscosity allows to prepare gels of high concentration and therefore increase its sieving capacity.
Characteristics
- High resolution capacity, in some cases close to that obtained with polyacrylamide gels.
- Very clear and transparent gels, even at high concentrations.
- Low viscosity solutions at high concentrations, allowing easy gel preparation at high concentrations (>4%) which allows the excellent separation of smaller fragment sizes.
