Anhydrotetracycline is an antibiotic derivative of tetracycline. It is effective at lower concentrations than either tetracycline or doxycycline and is also less toxic to E. coli. It is thus a suitable antibiotic for use with the PROTet Vectors or other vectors or systems designed upon elements of the (Tn10) tet operon.
Overview
- No antibacterial activity, so it can be used in bacterial systems to induce expression from tetracycline-controlled promoters.
- 200 µl anhydrotetracycline (2 mg/ml)
