Advantage 2 Polymerase Mix is an optimized blend of PCR enzymes that is a proven balance of high yield and high fidelity (with 3X higher fidelity than regular Taq) for cDNA amplification and library construction. With an automatic hot-start feature, our Advantage 2 Polymerase Mix can readily amplify a wide range of DNA templates, including long templates up to 18 kb, and complex genomic DNA up to 6 kb. The Advantage 2 Polymerase Mix includes two optimized buffers. dNTPs need to be purchased separately.

Advantage 2 Polymerase Mix is perfect for PCR applications requiring accuracy, such as RACE PCR, cDNA amplification, library construction, and PCR subtraction. Advantage 2 Polymerase Mix is highly recommended for applications downstream of our SMART(er) method for cDNA synthesis.

Advantage 2 Polymerase Mix is also available in a complete PCR kit that includes dNTPs and PCR controls, or in a ready-to-use, lyophilized format (High Fidelity PCR EcoDry Premix).

Amplification of various large templates using Advantage 2 Polymerase Mix

Amplification of various large templates using Advantage 2 Polymerase Mix. 1–3 μl of each PCR product was run on a 1.1 agarose/EtBr gel. Lane 1: 2.5-kb E. coli DNA polymerase gene amplified from genomic DNA. Lane 2: 3.5-kb bovine pancreatic trypsin inhibitor gene amplified from calf thymus genomic DNA. Lane 3: 5.9-kb human IL-1β gene amplified from human genomic DNA. Lane 4: 8.5-kb human titin cDNA amplified from a SMART Human Skeletal Muscle cDNA library.
