pAsRed2 is a prokaryotic expression vector, which encodes a human codon-optimized variant of Anemonia sulcata red fluorescent protein, AsRed2, which has been engineered for brighter fluorescence and higher expression in mammalian cells. In this vector, the AsRed2 gene is flanked by separate and distinct MCS regions at the 5′ and 3′ ends so that the AsRed2 gene can be subcloned into other expression vectors. This vector is primarily intended to serve as a convenient source of AsRed2 cDNA.
