pIRES2 DsRed-Express 2 is a eukaryotic expression vector that encodes DsRed-Express2, a variant of Discosoma sp. red fluorescent protein contains the internal ribosome entry site (IRES) of the encephalomyocarditis virus (ECMV) between the MCS and red fluorescent protein DsRed-Express2 coding region. This permits both the gene of interest (cloned into the MCS) and the DsRed-Express2 gene to be translated from a single bicistronic mRNA.
